Well I am about to go take my final in my Water Distribution II class. I was looking through the news today just to get a look at what is going on on the water world. Well besides the obvious disaster in the Gulf of Mexico with the oil leak. I caught an article dated June 1 in the Los Angeles Times. Looks like there moving forward on raising LADWP water rates 8% this year. They just went through a big battle over the electricity rates. Makes me relieved that I don't live in DWP utility area. As long as the LA Mayor continues to use LADWP as a slush fund, the utility rates will rise and rise and rise some more. DWP has their own governing body separate from the city counsel, appointed by the mayor might I point out. Isn't that like having the fox guard the hen house??? Well it doesn't affect me directly but just thought that I might point this out
Try to keep your pocketbooks safe and good luck!!!

God Bless Our Soldiers

Here it is the Tuesday after Memorial Day, the bar-b-ques have cooled, the trash has been bagged and taken out, and everyone is back to work. Although our lives are back to their daily schedules we must not forget about those brave women and men out there every day putting their lives on the line to protect our sacred freedom. There are a handfull of days where we recognize the work that our Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen do. I have a challenge for every American. Every time you see a service member, and especially a veteran, shake their hand and thank them for the work they do and have done for each and every one of us. Though you may not agree with the politics behind conflict, these brave men and women are out there protecting your ability to have and express those opinions.
GOD BLESS OUR PROTECTORS OF FREEDOM!!!
